IMPORTANT NOTICE REGARDING REPEAT PRESCRIPTION ORDERS

URGENT NOTICE: PRESCRIPTION REQUESTS

We are experiencing very high levels of phone calls relating to prescriptions and medication queries.  We are unable to accept repeat medication requests by phone or email.  Please download the NHS app to order your medication.  You an also post your request through the surgery letterbox.

If you’re a patient at our practice you can now use the new NHS App, a simple and secure way to access a range of NHS services on your smartphone or tablet.

You can use the NHS App to check your symptoms and get instant advice, book appointments, order repeat prescriptions, view your GP medical record and more.

If you already use EMIS Patient Access, you can continue to use it. You can use the NHS App as well.

PATIENT ONLINE ACCESS

Patient Access is a secure system which allows you to use the online services available from your surgery. Signing up to this service will enable you to book appointments online, order your repeat prescription medications, send secure messages and update your patient details.

If you are already signed up to the online Patient Access account, you can still use this to order your repeat  medications and book online appointments.  

If you have not already registered, forms can be collected from Reception.  You will also need to bring along in person two documents to verify your identity, one of which must be photo ID.

The documents will be checked for consistency and the applicant compared to the image on the photo ID and true likeness verified.

Acceptable documents are:

  • Photo ID: either a current passport or photo card driving licence
  • Bank Statement: a bank statement which MUST be dated within the last 3 months (for proof of address)
  • NB: utility bills cannot be accepted

 

All repeat prescriptions drugs must be authorised by the medical centre doctors.

Requests should be made in writing either by:

N.B.Repeat prescription requests cannot be taken over the telephone.

Please allow two full working days for completion of the repeat prescription. If you wish your prescription to be posted back to you, please include a stamped addressed envelope with your request.

You may only request items that are your repeat medication. Items you have had just once, i.e. only on one occasion, may not be ordered here and you may need to see the doctor to get them again. Such requests cannot be processed by Reception.

You can also have your prescription sent direct to a nominated chemist electronically.  The Electronic Prescription Service (EPS) is an NHS service. It gives you the chance to change how your GP sends your prescription to the place you choose to get your medicines or appliances from. Please follow the link to get more details.
